Directing your support to the University of Hawai'i

This sample language may be helpful as you work with your attorney to include a gift to the University of Hawai'i Foundation for the benefit of UH in your estate plan.

UNRESTRICTED BEQUESTS

Bequest of a Specific Dollar Amount: I hereby give, devise, and bequeath _________ and No/100 dollars ($DOLLARS) to the University of Hawai'i Foundation, a nonprofit organization located at 1810 University Ave., Suite 300, Honolulu, HI, 96822, Federal Tax ID #99-0085260, for the University of Hawai'i Foundation's general use and purpose.

Bequest of a Percent of the Estate: I hereby give, devise, and bequeath ____ percent ( __ %) of the remainder and residue of property owned at my death, whether real or personal and wherever located, to the University of Hawai'i Foundation, a nonprofit organization located at 1810 University Ave., Suite 300, Honolulu, HI, 96822, Federal Tax ID #99-0085260, for the University of Hawai'i Foundation's general use and purpose.

RESTRICTED BEQUESTS

To make your bequest restricted, the language should read*: I hereby give, devise, and bequeath (insert specific dollar amount or percentage language from above) to the University of Hawai'i Foundation, a nonprofit organization located at 1810 University Ave., Suite 300, Honolulu, HI, 96822, Federal Tax ID #99-0085260, for the benefit of ___________________________________ (include relevant college/program/campus).
